Garina Online Pvt Ltd, a Singapore-based game maker, has filed a petition in the High Court seeking its stay in the ruling on banning harmful games from online platforms, including Pubzi and Freefire. The High Court has accepted this petition for hearing. As a result, there was no obstacle for Garina to fight a legal battle for a free fire game in a Bangladeshi court.

A virtual bench of the High Court comprising Justice Mamnoon Rahman and Justice Khandaker Diliruzzaman passed the order on Wednesday (February 2nd). Barrister Junaid Ahmed Chowdhury and Barrister Tanvir Quader appeared for Garina Online in the court today.


On September 14 last year, Garina Online Pvt. Later on October 26, another bench of the High Court dismissed the petition.

According to the application, there are many players of free fire game in Bangladesh. Garina Online has suffered a direct loss of business due to a court order blocking links to the Free Fire Games. So Garina Online Pvt. Ltd. wants to be a party in this writ case.


On August 16 last year, the High Court ordered the banning of harmful games from all online platforms, including Pubji and Free Fire. At the same time, he issued a rule asking why the inaction of the defendants in banning ‘harmful’ apps and games including ticktack, like, bigo live on the online platform should not be declared illegal.
